Cancer Cards (E Aguries, Chairman)

Spirit Jump teams around the world will bring bags of cards to their local cancer centers to be given to those battling cancer.  This year the CPS/CAP Society of Texas Community Service team has entered a pledge to collect as many uplifting cards as we can, but in order to make this happen we need your support and contributions!

We ask that you please join us in these efforts by asking family members, friends, neighbors, schools, youth groups or just about any one you can think of, for a donation of a handmade or store bought card to help JUMP the SPIRIT of someone who is battling cancer.
Card collections will take place from March 9 through April 2, and we will deliver all cards collected, to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center on April 10, 2010.

If you are interested in participating, please mail your card(s) no later than April 2, 2010 to:

Evelyn J. Aguries CPS
c/o AECOM
5757 Woodway, 101W
Houston, Texas 77057

In addition, if you would like to become a member of our team, “CPS/CAP Society of Texas Cares,” please forward your contact information to: evelyn.aguries@cpscapsot.org. Some fun ways to get cards is to throw a card-making party; create an event on Facebook and invite your friends; and/or have a family fun day making cards.  To help promote awareness, please feel free to Blog, update your Facebook, Tweet about it, tell friends, classmates, youth groups, etc…

Tips: All cards collected should have a positive message and we ask that you stay away from “GET WELL” and any religious messages in your cards. The cards may be signed or unsigned, or however the person making the card feels most comfortable. The cards may be in an envelope or not but if you do place them in an envelope we suggest leaving the envelope unsealed in case the staff needs to look at the cards before they deliver them.
