Welcome

(please excuse layout / formatting issues while our site undergoes some web editing adjustments...)

With the success last year of our first-ever mid-annual seminar, we have once again decided to hold another such event on June 19, 2010.  Click here to go to our Meetings & Seminars page to read about the event and to view registration materials.  Pre-registration is required as walk-ins will not be allowed, so sign up early and SAVE THE DATE.

We welcome inquiries from anyone curious about our organization.  Click here to go to our Membership page and to read our membership brochure.  Although membership is reserved for those currently certified, we have information we can forward to you regarding the rewards and benefits associated with becoming professionally certified.  Feel free to contact any of our Board members via e-mail.

Anyone interested in certifying as a Certified Professional Secretary (CPS), or a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) may also visit the website for the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) for more details.

Professional Networking is one of our key initiatives.  IAAP Chapters in and around the Houston area are always planning networking opportunities.  Go to our IAAP Chapter Links page and visit Galveston County's website to read about their online auction (under the Current Chapter Fundraiser section) taking place to help promote and support their educational programs.

As of January 2010, the IAAP reports the State of Texas ranking first with 518 ACTIVE CAP HOLDERS (compared to 471 for the same period a year ago).  The State of Ohio still ranks second at 278 (compared to 257 also for the same period a year ago).  Texas more than doubled the number achieving the CAP designation over Ohio, its closest competitor.

Texas; however, is still holding its second place position for ACTIVE CPS HOLDERS  with 2,376 compared to Tennessee holding a first place ranking with 2,976.
